The series of blasts made residents believe bombs were going off.

Firefighters responded immediately, classifying the incident as a Level III fire. They brought 12 water tankers, 10 fire engines, and a 90-meter hydraulic ladder to fight the flames. The narrow lanes and crowded neighbourhood made their job harder.

  • Anjali Jamade, a brave firefighter, was injured by falling glass.
  • Residents Nasir Ansari and Samin Ansari suffered burns.
  • Sana Ansari escaped with minor injuries.

Despite the severity of the fire, no one lost their life.

As the fire spread quickly, many residents ran to the terrace for safety. Around 50 people, including children and senior citizens, were trapped there for four hours.

Local NGOs stepped in to provide food and water to the displaced. One resident, Ashfaq Dorajiwallah, managed to escape but his family, including two toddlers, remained on the terrace.

For some, the wait was tense. Sania Soratia, a resident, rushed to safety with her family and later reunited with her son, who had been out during the fire.
