A devastating fire broke out at an electric scooter showroom on Dr. Rajkumar Road, Bengaluru, near Navarang Bar Junction on Tuesday evening. The incident claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman and left another person injured.

The deceased, Priya, worked as an accountant at the MY EV store and was a resident of Ramachandrapura. Tragically, she was set to celebrate her 21st birthday on November 20.

The fire started around 5:30 p.m. in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar police station limits. It is suspected to have been triggered by an electric scooter battery explosion during charging. The flames quickly engulfed the showroom, destroying 45 electric scooters.

Emergency Response and Rescue Operations

Five fire-fighting teams and an SDRF van were dispatched to control the blaze. Nearby buildings and shops were evacuated as a precautionary measure, and traffic police redirected vehicles to avoid further risks. Unfortunately, Priya was trapped in a smoke-filled cabin and succumbed to suffocation and severe burns.

Investigation Underway

Bengaluru Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Preliminary reports suggest a possible battery explosion as the trigger for the blaze.
