According to official reports, the fire started in one house in the remote Marwah region of Kishtwar district and quickly spread to surrounding homes. Over 90 houses were gutted in the process. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Emergency responders, including senior officials and firefighting teams, were quick to rush to the scene to contain the fire. Fire tenders from Anantnag are also en route to assist local teams. Despite ongoing efforts, the fire was still raging at the time of this report.

Fortunately, no reports of injuries or loss of life have been confirmed so far. Deputy Director of Fire and Emergency Services, Moomin ul Islam, confirmed that a firefighting operation is still in progress to bring the situation under control.
